SVEDC endorses Kellogg School District bond

The Silver Valley Economic Development Corporation believes strong schools are important for our communities and for attracting future investments. We encourage residents to support the districtís facilities bond on Aug. 27.

The funds from this bond will be used to upgrade or replace aging infrastructure that in many cases is well past its service life. Some of the improvements will be replacing drinking water lines, securing main entrances, updating fire suppression and safety, replacing roofs, repairing parking areas and replacing an outdated boiler.

When meeting with potential new businesses or people who are looking to invest in the Valley, one common concern that has been voiced is the current condition of our schools. By supporting the bond, it will reassure potential investors that the residents of the Silver Valley are committed to our community and schools.

On Aug. 27, we can make a long-term investment in our community and give our kids a safe updated environment to learn in, while putting the district into a position to manage future growth.
